Enjoy a journey of discovery through the rural heartlands of four states, winding through hills and ranges, across verdant green valleys, past country towns, wide open plains and fertile farmlands. The Southern Spirit’s timetable makes the most of the daylight hours to offer inspiring views of the rich tapestry of passing mountain landscapes and Australia’s eastern seaboard.
 
The Southern Spirit includes whistle-stop tours at selected locations en-route that highlight the essence of Australia’s south east: The Grampians National Park, Ned Kelly Country, and the Murray River.  Visit the Western Plains then cross the majestic Blue Mountains and descend to the Hunter Valley for an extended tour.  Enjoy a taste of the pristine mid-north coast of New South Wales, with visits to Port Macquarie and Byron Bay. The Southern Spirit offers a perfect combination of scenery rolling by your train window, comfort and relaxation with unsurpassed on-board service all mixed with touring at a gentle pace.
