Austrail Flexipass

The Austrail Flexi Pass offers flexibility across all participating rail companies and is available for travel over 15 or 22 days in a six month period from the first day of travel.

Travel conditions

• The Austrail Flexi Pass is valid for unlimited travel in Economy/Red Kangaroo Service seats, for the applicable flexi days purchased, over a six month period, which starts on the day the pass is validated (first day of actual travel)
• A travel “day" is a period of 24 hours, or less, from the scheduled departure time of a service. Eg, an overnight trip 2100/0900 is regarded as one “day". Travel can not commence on the evening prior to the first “day" and the final journey needs to be completed before midnight on the last “day"
• Upgrade to a sleeping berth/first class seat is allowed. Surcharges are applicable
• The Austrail Flexi Pass is available for travel on rail services operated by Great Southern Railway, Queensland Rail and CountryLink. The pass is not available for travel on any Queensland Rail Citytrain service or the Savannahlander, however is available for use on the Kuranda Scenic Railway and The Gulflander. The pass can be used on all CityRail services operated by NSW State Rail.
• The Austrail Flexi Pass is only available to foreign Passport holders. Clients should be advised to carry their passports with them at all times as railway staff may wish to check it against the passport numbers endorsed on the pass
• To ensure clients obtain maximum value from their pass, they should be strongly advised to reserve space on as many rail sectors as possible before arrival in Australia

• No discount is available for Children.
• Austrail Flexi Pass is subject to a Fuel Price Surcharge per sector booked on The Ghan, Indian Pacific and The Overland.

Cancellations / Refunds

Unused passes receive a full refund, but once the pass has been validated (first leg travelled) or lost, no refund is issued
